GBC pro team athlete – Rachel Watters
Since her first Obstacle Course Race in March of 2015, Rachel has fallen in love with the sport. A few months into her first year, she competed in her first Green Beret Challenge event in July of 2015 and loved every moment of it. While strength-based Green Beret obstacles are her favorite, Rachel also enjoys participating in a variety of obstacle race series with top finishes in Spartan Race, Savage Race, Conquer the Gauntlet, Battle Frog, and podium finishes at the US OCR and OCRWC Championship Races in 2017. Her goals for the upcoming season include breaking 20 minutes in her 5k time and taking home the top spot at the Green Beret Challenge Championship Race. Rachel was born and raised in Atlanta, GA where she attended Pope High School and walked onto the track team during her sophomore year – she credits this as one of the best decisions that she ever made. She then studied at Georgia State University, earning her Bachelors in Business Administration and Masters in Human Resource Management. In addition to working as a licensed agent at an insurance brokerage, Rachel is an ISSA certified Personal Trainer in the Atlanta area. When she is not training for, or racing, (or thinking about training and racing) she enjoys travel, outdoor adventures, cooking, watching scary movies, and is the proud mom of two rescued dogs. Rachel’s latest accomplishment, scoring an amazing 8th place in the 2018 World’s Toughest Mudder.

GBC pro team athlete – Lance Johnson
After picking up road running in 2014, Lance found himself wanting to push his limits even further. By the end of that same year, he began competing in various Obstacle Course Races and Endurance Events. After tackling his first Green Beret Challenge event in July 2015, he was hooked. He has since conquered numerous GBC events; including the Operators Course, the Commando Team Challenge, and Behind Enemy Lines (GBC’s 24-hour Endurance Challenge). Outside of GBC, he has competed in multi-lap races, ultra marathons, Tough Mudder, and GORUCK events. His fun-loving personality, passion for the sport, and continued success throughout the years made him a natural fit for the Green Beret Challenge Pro Team. Don’t let his size fool you though. He is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to heavy carries and running fast.
Ambassador – DJ Jambo
When we think of our community, we think of the people that help shape our family. No one does it better than this man. Meet DJ Jarian Rich, aka Jambo! Jambo can be found at almost every GBC and the moment you arrive, you will know he is there. Jambo creates an atmosphere unlike any other DJ we have seen in the business. His positive, can-do attitude fits perfectly with the mantra of the GBC. Look for him in the festival area jamming your favorite music, or on the course crushing the obstacles… Either way, Jambo is GBC!
